Verkoth’s purpose is to bring mayhem and destruction wherever it roams. It leads Kerrafius and his endless forces to war against all creatures of the material plane. After decades of research, Zurae-ta has found a way to break Verkoth's bindings, but requires Kerrafius’s blood in order to open a portal and allow Verkoth to escape its prison. Once she finally retrieves it and sets Kerrafius free, together, they plan on completing an old forgotten ritual that invites a destructive monstrous devil into the Material Plane known as Verkoth the Destroyer of Worlds. The medallion is being safely kept inside the lair of the now-dead mad mage who created the dungeon. The dungeon is hidden deep underground inside a network of caves. The mad mage had fought the forces of Zurae-ta and Kerafius during his time and after years of enslavement under them, he found a way to seal Kerrafius into the magical medallion and placed it onto a Shield Guardian, which is under the protection of a moving Magic Circle spell that prevents Zurae-ta from claiming the medallion herself. Thus, Zurae-ta approaches capable adventurers disguised as a human known as Helena Bran and offers them a good sum of gold to explore the dungeon and retrieve what she claims to be her missing archaeologist husband. She informs unwary adventurers that he went down to explore the cave and has not returned in over a week. Once the party accepts, she gives them a map that shows the location of the dungeon. Depending on the adventurers she comes across, she either joins them on their journey, disguised as a helpless woman, or once the group is out of sight, follows them using her Etherealness ability as they make their way to the dungeon. Zurae-ta has yet to find a party capable of retrieving the medallion for her, with her patience wearing thin, she seeks to recruit other fearsome creatures and unwary residents to do her bidding for her.
